This month’s event is inspired by a video from Mike Montero, Design Director and co-founder of Mule Design Studio, called F*ck You. Pay Me.

Lisa Garwood from nativeBrand circulated this on Twitter and got such a response that she realised that a lot of creatives are struggling with some of the situations Mike describes.

If you have ever felt like telling a client “F*ck You. Pay Me” or you’ve taken steps to make sure you never get in that position, come along on the 30th and share your ideas and experiences.

Just like the movement against free pitching, it’s time for those in the creative services to protect themselves from scope creep, project changes and the other all too often used excuses that clients use to avoid paying for work that has already been done.

Lisa writes Not Another Business Blog  for Cambridge News and has a regular slot on marketing advice for small businesses on Star Radio’s The Business Hub show.

Aided and abetted by Business Mentor Ann Hawkins of The Inspired Group, Lisa will share the steps that other industries take to protect themselves and ask how feasible it is to incorporate them into creative businesses.
